Hi,
My name is Josh Knight and I am currently enrolled in the hlthinfo 723 course at Auckland University. Previously I have worked in health care and government agencies in the UK and New Zealand
I am currently studying at the University of Auckland completing a paper on health informatics.
I'm a Research Fellow at the National Insitute for Health Innovation at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. I trained as a medical doctor in the UK and have worked for the NHS, Cambridge University and Otago University in clnical and academic roles.
I blog at the Health Informatics Blog and before setting up this site, I have created online communities at New Media Medicine (60,000 members) and Health Informatics Forum (3,000 members).
My main interests are in the area of the use of New Media in healthcare, particularly Social Media such as online communities, blogs, wikis, etc and bio-medical 3D animations and video production for e-learning.
Lecturer in health informatics at University of Auckland, with special interest in person-centric healthcare enabled by health information management principles.
Project Manager at Canterbury Distrist Health Board responsible for planning and delivery of major projects. Primary focus of work to date has been business improvement projects and introducing lean thinking tools to the organisation.
I AM an Anesthetist who migrated to New Zealand 11 years ago and i am enjoying it and very proud of being a kiwi , i am looking to do health informatics so i can use my clinical experience in the management of some common problems which delay service and frustrate both doctors , nurses ,and also make life of the patients easy getting faster and efficient services, i have 3 girls aged 5 ,3, and 10 months. i play squash heavily.love slow rock music, action movies and fine dining out
I'm a Health science studant at auckland university and registering to the hive is part of the course requirement.
I am a BHSc/LLB student at the University of Auckland. From 2006-2009 I was a youth advisor to the Ministries of Health and Education on the Healthy Eating Healthy Activity [HEHA] strategy.
Aside from my university studies, I am a violinist and have performed as a soloist with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Bay of Plenty Symphonia and Auckland Youth Orchestra to audiences as big as 200,000 people at the Skycity Starlight Symphony. Since winning the NZ Sentinel Secondary Performers Competition, I have released my debut album Violin Virtuoso and was recognised with a North Harbour Club AIMES Emerging Talent award in Music. Since 2009 I have been appointed the concertmaster of Auckland Youth Orchestra.
I am an oversease trained doctor, and have been working in Mental health for the last 5 years in nz, currently working as a project coordinator Mental health and doing PGdip part time at UOA.
