I'll kick things off by introducing myself.  I work part-time for NIHI at the University of Auckland.  I'm a "techy person" (most recently an Oracle DBA) with a general interest in health innovation.  I'm helping out with hive site admin and generally getting the site off the ground.  Look forward to hearing from all of you!

Welcome to the site!

I'm currently sitting in Hong Kong airport trying to iron out the last minute hive bugs... Send me a hive message or email c.paton@auckland.ac.nz if you discover any!

Cheers,

Chris

Hi,
I am a student at the University of Auckland. I am here because joining this website and commenting about telehealth is a part of our assignment. :)

I'm new to the forum, but have been following Chris Patton on Twitter for some time.  I write a regular chronic pain blog for health providers (mainly psychosocial/functional management), work at University of Otago, Christchurch, and Burwood Pain Management Centre.
I'm a 'user' of technology, interested in what it can do rather than how it does it, particularly Health 2.0 for both clinicians and patients/clients, although my passion is communicating and learning about pain management.

Hello everyone.
I am in London on a wet UK morning, about to start the days work in an NHS agency where we run the national database for adverse events and are responsible for improving the safety of patients in the receipt of care.
I am not an overly techy person however I have found myself leading the development of new systems for reporting and management of adverse events. With my research/psychologist hat on I am also leading some evaluations into NPSA initiatives to reduce patient harm.
I am very interested in the developments being made in NZ to improve health services as I hope to make the move to Auckland next year (where my parents already live).

Hi all,
I am also a student at the University of Auckland. Apart from my assignment requirements hive has piked my interest particularly in thinking about the ethical concerns in health, innovation and informatics.
I look forward to a continuation of interesting postings!

Hello Everyone,
I am Olusesan, a Nigerian Epidemiologist. I work as a monitoring and evaluations personnel in a non-governmental organization. I am responsible for developing information systems to track project progress. I am interested in pursuing a research degree in health information systems.
Would love to share ideas with anyone into health information systems research. I have recently developed a database for data storage using the international classification of primary care (ICPC-2) coding system. I believe this classification is the most basic that is needed in developing countries where facilities for Hi-Tech diagnosis are not available.

Hi all, I'm Brett, I work as a Community Mental Health Nurse in a Rural General Adult Team. I work daily with inefficiecies, over administration and the day to day chaos of the coal face of psychiatry.
I'm curious as to how IT innovations may help me in day to day clinical work.
I'm particularly interested in the concept of a national health data base linking primary and secondary services
I look forward to emulsifying all I read here.

Hi there all I am familiarising myself to this new technology and work as a RN in secondary services, very keen to learn how this innovation can help push health services forward in rural areas.
