Hi Everyone,
as part of my masters degree in public health, i have enrolled in HEALTHINFO 728.  for assignment one, i have chosen to look at the mobile phone (texting/sms) as the disruptive technology that interests me, namely examining its current and future impact.
i can honestly see its implications on the patients; most enjoying the covenience and non-threatning nature of a text message alert, but what i would like to futher examine how it is for the health professional.   i am aware that most clinics for instance hate having high DNA rates (Did-Not-Attend) and are trying to t reduce those, but are they losing the human touch of health care delivery with such technology?  are there any negative outcomes?
